Give Hope to Aunty Jill in Her Cancer Journey

All my life, my aunty has always been there for me and our whole family.

She was born and raised in Hana on the island of Maui. This is where she started her small business “Hana Kine Snacks” in 2011. You may have tried one of her many treats. She has attended many pop-ups, such as at the Four Seasons in Wailea, at the Sunday Market in Kahului, and a few of the different craft fairs in town.

Our Aunty Jill Kawaiaea just celebrated her 57th birthday with our whole family and a few of her close friends there. Family time is what she values most. She has the biggest, most generous, and warmest heart, always putting everyone else’s needs before her own. She is the Aunty who takes care of all of her nieces and nephews like her own.

On July 16th, Aunty was sent to the emergency room at the hospital because her blood count was so low that a blood transfusion was necessary. While in the ER, various tests and imaging revealed cancer throughout her uterus and a few other organs.

On July 30th, Gynecologic Oncologist, Dr. Korenaga from Kaiser on Oahu, concluded that Aunty has Stage 4 Uterine cancer, meaning the cancer has originated in the uterus and since then has spread to other organs. Dr. Korenaga has a plan in place to start chemo ASAP, surgery at Kaiser Oahu to remove the uterus and any surrounding cancer, then more chemo to follow. The first treatment is scheduled for Monday 8/19/2024 at Kaiser Wailuku.

Aunty Jill’s has been working full time for almost a year now until this diagnosis. With treatment and surgeries in the near future, she will be out of work for the time being. To help ease her mind, and not have to worry about her finances, but instead, focus on the fight that is ahead of her, we would like to ask for your support. Either financially but most importantly we ask for your prayers to give Aunty the strength to fight this battle. We know that with God ALL things are possible and we hold on to our faith in God that Aunty Jill will live on!
