On behalf of a newcomer mother in our community, Nadiya, Mishka Social Services is organizing this fundraiser to support her and her 9 year old daughter. Nadiya has asked us to share her story in her own words:

My name is Nadiya, and I am writing to request financial assistance during an extremely difficult and unexpected crisis in my life.

I am a single mother to a 9 year old girl, and we are facing sudden financial hardship after a major disruption in our family and financial situation. Several business liabilities and debts were left in my name without my knowledge or consent, leaving me responsible for payments that I did not create and cannot manage on my own.

As newcomers to Canada, my daughter and I have no family here to rely on. For years, I worked hard to secure our Permanent Residency, support my child, and build a stable foundation for our future. Unfortunately, recent events have left us without emotional or financial support and have placed us under overwhelming strain.

In addition to caring for my daughter and working to provide for our daily needs, I am now facing unexpected debts, legal obligations, and financial pressures. These challenges have made it extremely difficult to keep up with essential expenses such as rent, food, utilities, and school costs

With humility, I am asking for emergency assistance to help us get through this crisis. Your support would provide stability and safety for my daughter and allow us the chance to rebuild after a very painful and uncertain period.
