Hi, my name is Tony and I am the luckiest guy in the entire world to have met and married my childhood sweetheart Lesley in 2014. We first met back in September of 1986 at school. I was hooked from one time our eyes met.
I dont know how I did it, but I plucked up the courage to ask Lesley on our first date. I discovered what Sting meant when he sang "Giant steps are what you take, walking on the moon" when she accepted.
Time passed and we fell apart due to family circumstances, both of us left devastated and heartbroken.
Years passed and in 2012 I lost my dear friend to a brain cancer. We had grown up as neighbours from being kids and although we went to different schools he knew all about Lesley. Ironically it was my friends passing that led Lesley to find me on email and reach out. She had heard the sad news and felt moved to reconnect.
That event brought us back together and I know deep in my heart that my friend was looking over us both. He knew we would need each other.
We were both instantly transported back to 1986 and rekindled our love for each other. I got to know and love Lesley's girls Sky and Storm.
Lesley and I married two years later and I was on top of the world.
Just three short years later almost to the week, devastation struck. Lesley was diagnosed with an aggressive breast cancer at stage 2. We fought through it together and following surgery she made a terrific comeback.
Lesley is such an inspiration. Following this diagnosis she went on to complete a masters degree in Psychology. In 2023 Lesley, having been a registered nurse for over 15 years, joined Greater Manchester Police as a new recruit! At 52 years of age!
Sky, Storm, and I thought "mum” was unstoppable. We were in awe of what she had achieved. But how wrong we were. The second devastating diagnosis came less than 12 months in to her new career. In fact, just after completing all the basic training and fitness tests. The pesky cancer had come back with a vengeance. We discovered metastases to her liver, pelvic bones and lung just before Christmas 2023. It was the toughest Christmas we ever had albeit still a blessing that she was able to share it with us, from the settee.
Now we are fighting to save her life. We need all the prayers, shares and help we can get. Any donation no matter how small will help keep Lesley around for Storm. Bless her socks, she’s our severely autistic, non-verbal, special needs adorable girl and she needs her mum. I need her too and love her like nothing on Earth.
I know there must be a thousand heartbreaking stories but my heart breaks a thousand times a day right now. We urgently need to travel abroad for treatment as the once renowned British NHS is no longer able to support her as a stage four terminal cancer patient.
To fly to Frankfurt from Manchester costs just over £1000.
Each TACE treatment costs around £3600 (3900 euro's) and there are additional fees for private prescriptions and medications.
Ongoing vitamin C infusions and hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is both anti cancer and helps with side effects from TACE. The recommended protocol is at least two per week whcih equates to around £650 a week!
Our pot will quickly melt without additional funds. We simply could not do this without all the help we can find. Any help you can give is a huge blessing.
Thank you in advance. We are so grateful that you took the time to read this. Please share share share and help us reach our target.
With love and blessings
Tony, Lesley, Sky and Storm
