Give Hope: Surgery for 17-Year-Old with a Dream
Donation protected
For those who don’t know, I come from very humble beginnings in Jamaica (hand washing clothes, no running water humble). I moved to the US with my father at a young age, leaving behind my mother and siblings.
Recently, my mother informed me that my little brother is in need of a quite expensive knee operation. My little brother is 17 years old and a 6’10 aspiring professional basketball player. With his current injury, he is stuck in a brace and unable to participate in any activity, which means he is unable to practice and train. After many tests, it was concluded that he needs to undergo an arthroscopic surgery for an osteochondral defect in his knee which will total over $6000 USD.
My mother, being a small shop owner, doesn’t have the funds to cover such an expensive procedure and unfortunately, Jamaica's health insurance system isn’t the best. We're seeking donations to help get my brother the surgery he needs. We’re all doing what we can to come up with the money but with the tight deadline, we can use all the help we can get.
I’m typically a very private person and absolutely hate asking for help so anything anyone can donate is overly appreciated!
