Hello, we are Mark and Nicole Redden, and on July 8th, 2024, our world was shaken to its core. This is the day we discovered our beloved Golden Retriever, Hope, was battling a serious health condition. After noticing elevated liver enzymes during a routine check-up, her veterinarian, Dr Luke Delpo at Westlake Veterinary Clinic, quickly initiated a series of tests. She had two ultrasounds locally that were inconclusive, and a Cushings Disease test that was negative. Dr Delpo, determined to get answers, put in a referral to the University of Tennessee where they completed another ultrasound with fine needle aspirate to collect cells, and a CT scan. These efforts led to the devastating diagnosis of Hepatocellular Carcinoma. The tumor on her liver is the size of a volleyball and has been confirmed to be cancerous.
Without immediate intervention, this tumor will be fatal within six months. We have scheduled Hope’s surgery for early October at the University of Tennessee, where the cancerous mass was ultimately found and identified, but we are on the first-call cancellation list, hoping for an earlier date to give her the best chance at survival.
If you know us, you already know how much Hope truly means to us, if you don’t know us yet, you will quickly learn that she is not just a pet to us; she is a cherished member of our family. We love her deeply and have always made decisions with her best interest at heart.
We are reaching out to you, our friends, family, and compassionate supporters, to help us raise $8,000 for Hope’s life-saving surgery. This surgery is her only chance to live a longer, healthier, and happier life, but the journey to this point has already cost us well over $6,500 to get a diagnosis. The prognosis after surgery is very promising, offering Hope the opportunity to continue bringing joy and love into our lives for years to come. No matter the size, every contribution will bring us one step closer to giving Hope the care she desperately needs.
This surgery is our last hope to save her life, and we are determined to do everything in our power to see her through this challenging time. But we desperately need your help, and humbly ask for your support in giving Hope the chance to enjoy a long, happy life by our side. Your support means the world to us, and we are incredibly grateful for any assistance you can provide. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts!
