"Help Me Graduate : Urgent Tuition Support Needed"

Hi, my name is David Martinez, and I’m originally from Colombia. I came to Canada 2 years ago as an international student with one dream: to build a better future for myself and my family.

I come from a hardworking, humble family who gave everything so I could have this chance. I’ve worked incredibly hard for years - studying, saving, and sacrificing - just to reach this point. Every step of the way, I’ve done my best to make them proud and make this opportunity count.

But now, my dream is in danger.

Due to strict work-hour limits for international students and the high cost of tuition, I’ve reached a financial wall. I’ve been working part-time jobs, taking long shifts, and still, it hasn’t been enough. I’ve used up all my savings. On top of that, I still have to cover my housing, groceries, medication, and daily expenses - all while being an architecture student, which is an incredibly demanding degree. I’ve stayed up entire nights working on assignments, pushing myself to study for tests, and doing everything I can to maintain my GPA. I’ve poured my heart into every project and fought for every grade because I believe in the future I’m building.

Thanks to the generosity of so many people, we were able to raise $9,000, which went directly toward my tuition. That support allowed me to continue my studies - and I am deeply grateful. Unfortunately, I now need to take two courses that weren’t available before. I am just two courses away from graduating, but to finish my degree, I must pay for both the spring semester and these two final courses.

That means I urgently need $10,000 more to complete my studies and finally graduate.

If I don’t make this payment, I won’t just have to drop out - I could lose my student status and be forced to leave Canada. After everything I’ve worked for, leaving now would be heartbreaking. It would mean giving up years of hard work and never being able to return to the country I now call home.

Canada has given me so much - hope, safety, and opportunity. I want nothing more than to stay, graduate, and give back to this beautiful country that welcomed me when I needed it most.

I know times are hard for everyone, and it’s not easy to ask for help. But today, I humbly ask: if you can, please help me keep this dream alive. Any donation, no matter how small, will make a real difference. Even sharing this story with others means the world to me.

All funds raised will go directly toward my Sheridan College tuition fees so I can finally graduate.

"Ayúdame a Graduarme: Apoyo Urgente para la Matrícula"

Hola, mi nombre es David Martínez y soy originalmente de Colombia. Llegué a Canadá hace 2 años como estudiante internacional con un solo sueño: construir un mejor futuro para mí y para mi familia.

Vengo de una familia humilde y trabajadora que lo dio todo para que yo pudiera tener esta oportunidad. He trabajado increíblemente duro durante años - estudiando, ahorrando y sacrificando - solo para llegar hasta este punto. En cada paso del camino he hecho todo lo posible por hacerlos sentir orgullosos y aprovechar esta oportunidad al máximo.

Pero ahora, mi sueño está en peligro.

Debido a las estrictas restricciones de horas laborales para estudiantes internacionales y al alto costo de la matrícula, he llegado a un muro financiero. He trabajado en empleos de medio tiempo, haciendo turnos largos, y aun así no ha sido suficiente. He agotado todos mis ahorros. Además, todavía tengo que cubrir el costo de vivienda, comida, medicamentos y gastos diarios, todo mientras estudio arquitectura, una carrera ya de por sí muy exigente. He pasado noches enteras trabajando en proyectos, esforzándome al máximo para estudiar para los exámenes, y haciendo todo lo posible por mantener mi promedio. He puesto mi corazón en cada entrega y he luchado por cada calificación porque creo en el futuro que estoy construyendo.

Gracias a la generosidad de tantas personas, pudimos recaudar $9,000, que fueron directamente destinados a mi matrícula. Ese apoyo me permitió continuar mis estudios, y estoy profundamente agradecido. Lamentablemente, ahora debo tomar dos materias que no estaban disponibles anteriormente. Estoy a solo dos cursos de graduarme, pero para finalizar mi carrera debo pagar tanto el semestre de primavera como estas dos materias finales.

Eso significa que necesito $10,000 más con urgencia para completar mis estudios y finalmente graduarme.

Si no logro hacer este pago, no solo tendré que abandonar mis estudios, sino que podría perder mi estatus de estudiante y verme obligado a salir de Canadá. Después de todo lo que he trabajado, tener que irme ahora sería devastador. Significaría renunciar a años de esfuerzo y no poder volver jamás al país que ahora siento como mi hogar.

Canadá me ha dado tanto: esperanza, seguridad y oportunidades. No quiero nada más que quedarme, graduarme y devolverle a este hermoso país todo lo que me ha dado cuando más lo necesitaba.

Sé que los tiempos son difíciles para todos, y no es fácil pedir ayuda. Pero hoy, con humildad, les pido: si pueden, por favor ayúdenme a mantener vivo este sueño. Cualquier donación, por pequeña que sea, hará una gran diferencia. Incluso compartir esta historia con otros significaría el mundo para mí.

Todos los fondos recaudados irán directamente a cubrir mis matrículas en Sheridan College para que finalmente pueda graduarme.
