Give Him his Shot

Donation protected
I have put this campaign together with the hopes that our Cateechee family will help one of our own. Everything donated goes toward helping Eli give his best shot at becoming a professional golfer.

I've watched Eli grow up in the sport of Golf. He's the hometown kid with a lot of talent and determination. At 10 years old he was outdriving his dad, well to be fair, Dad was on the back tees but it was clear back then that Eli had talent. I would like to see him get his shot and hopefully so will the others that have watched him grow into the outstanding young man he is today.

One day Eli and I and a couple of others were playing at Cateechee. He was home on break from UGA. We got to 17 and he teed up from the Tips, naturally. That day the tee markers were as far back on the box as they could get, making the hole a true 628 yards long. It was a real thrill to watch this kid reach the green in two shots! It's my favorite Eli Scott anecdote. Clearly, he can nuke the ball!

So, here's a little information regarding Eli and his dream of becoming a professional golfer. On January 9th he will have a registration to the PGA Tour Canada Q-school which will be played in late February or early March based on which location (Florida or Alabama) he is sent to (TBD). If he qualifies for PGA tour Canada he will be eligible for 10 events in Canada starting in June thru September. If he does well enough on that tour he will advance to the second stage of the Korn Ferry Tour Q-school after the regular season is completed. He will also be entering any mini-tour events that he can get in and that will take place as time allows during the off weeks of the Canadian tour. He will be moving to the Brunswick / St. Simons area in February or early March based on when the housing is complete where he will be living (currently under construction). When he gets there he will become a member of the GPC Player Performance Program at the Lodge and this will include all aspects of practicing and training for the game while using the facilities at Sea Side, Plantation & Retreat courses.

Over the next few years, he will be playing out of Sea Island, Ga where he hopes to fine-tune his game and make the next chapter of his life a success. He will be trying to get sponsors to help out along the way and hopefully get a few sponsor exemptions into the tournaments. He has the commitment and determination that it takes to succeed and looks forward to the next chapter of his life.

Eli's success will be up to him, my fingers are crossed. It is a tough road with a lot of competition. I hope we can come together and give him the chance to travel this road.
