Help Hazel Walk Without Pain – Give Her the Gift of Mobility through the Heels Down Program!
Hazel is a bright, curious, and artistic little girl who just wants to run and explore like other kids her age. But every step she takes comes with pain.
Hazel was born with tight ankle tendons that make walking difficult and painful. She is only able to walk on her “tip toes”. Without proper treatment, her condition will worsen, leading to permanent damage and the need for surgery. But there is hope — with specialized braces for her ankles and knees, orthopedic footwear, and ongoing physiotherapy, Hazel could walk pain-free and avoid surgery altogether.
Unfortunately, none of these essential treatments are covered by OHIP.
I am a single mother working two jobs to support Hazel and her two siblings. I do everything I can to give my children a good life, but the cost of Hazel’s care is overwhelming. Every medical appointment is two hours away in Kingston — requiring time off work, travel expenses, and out-of-pocket costs for therapy and medical equipment that are simply beyond reach. And the Heels Down Program requires full payment before treatment starts.
That’s where you come in.
The goal of raising $5,000 to help cover the cost of:
• Stretching braces for Hazel’s ankles and knees
• Orthopaedic footwear to help her walk properly
• Specialized physiotherapy to ease her pain and strengthen her legs
• Travel expenses for ongoing care in Kingston
Every dollar helps. Whether it’s $5 or $500, your contribution will go directly toward giving Hazel the chance to walk, play, and grow up without pain — just like every child deserves.
Please help give Hazel the future she deserves — one step at a time.
Donate today. Share her story. Be part of her healing.
Thank you for your kindness and support.
