Hello everyone!
My name is Ashley Tang. I am creating this fundraiser for Hank. For those of you who know me, you know Hank as the sweet, happy, white, fluffy boy with so much love to give. For those of you who do not know me as well, Hank is a Great Pyrenees, Labrador mix, otherwise known as a Pyrador. He is turning 9 years old in September. My family adopted him from a farm when he was 2 months old. The family who had him before us no longer wanted him, and we fell in love with him. So he has been with our family ever since. Hank has so much love and life left to live.
Now on to the tough story. I had come back from my sister's wedding to let all 3 of my dogs out to go potty as usual. The next morning, when we resumed our normal routine, I noticed Hank was limping pretty badly. Concerned about it, I called my vet and set an appointment for that afternoon. My dad came over and helped me transport all 100 lbs of Hank to the vet, only to find out that he had somehow torn his ACL. As many of you know, ACLs are extremely tough to recover from, and there is no guarantee that surgery will fix the issue. However, the vet said if he does not get this surgery, he has a very high chance of tearing his other ACL in his other leg. We do not want to give up on our boy. I am currently bedresting him for the month, giving him supplements recommended by the vet along with the anti-inflammatory pain meds the vet gave us.
The first day showed so much promise, but every day since then, he has slowly been declining. He is now limping on 3 legs. He will not put any weight on his hurt leg. I have been using a makeshift sling to help carry his back end around when he needs to go outside to potty. But all he does is lay down and smile at me. It breaks my heart to see my loving boy not be able to come greet me or do basic things like go potty. He won't even get up to eat. It is looking like he is needing surgery more and more each day. The vet told me his surgery will cost $4500-$5000. I set a goal of $6000 to help with anything he may need currently or for after surgery.
He deserves a chance to live. And these finances are taking a huge toll on me. So I wanted to ask the community if you have even a couple of dollars to spare to help him, that will help. Every bit of this fundraiser will go toward him, his needs, the surgery, recovery, etc. A few of you have reached out to me and asked how you can help, so I created this GoFundMe as the place to donate toward helping him. Please help me give my boy a chance to live his fullest life. Every little thing helps us.
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit this page, read our story, and help with his bills. We really appreciate it. I will continue to update everyone as I can on Hank and his status.
