Hi there, I recently purchased an English Cream Golden Retriever from a breeder who told me he had a grade one heart murmur. However, after taking him to the vet, I learned my puppy has a grade six murmur and is nearing congestive heart failure. I could really use help trying to pay his medical bills. There are tons of medications and exams needed to keep this little guy stable for as long as possible. He was given an estimated 2 years to live. I am trying to beat those odds. Gunther (the cream in question) is just now 5 months old. I am trying to just give him the best life possible with the time he has. In a perfect world, I would be able to get him a valve replacement. But unfortunately, due to the malformation of his tricuspid valve, this isn't an option. Gunther has pulmonary hypertension, tricuspid valve dysplasia & regurgitation, and consequently has pericardial effusion. Any donation helps and will be put towards his vet bills. Thanks so much. Gunther's Diagnosis
After months of being on medication for his regurgitation of his tricuspid valve, Gunther has been approved for surgery! Colorado State University has offered to operate on Gunther to try and correct the dysplasia. Although this operation is inherently risky, we believe Gunther is stable enough to go under the proper anesthesia and come out on the other side. If he were to get this surgery, his life expectancy would go from one year to that of a normal dog. I ask anyone that this story has touched to please consider donating. The estimated cost of the procedure is $40,000. I have already spent around $7,000 on testing, medications, and various cardiologist visits. Anything helps! Gunther and I thank you for your consideration.
