This is my brother Guild. He has struggled with pornography addiction for close to 50 years. He was introduced to it at a very young age. We think as young as 6 years old. He has try to quit many times and has done outpatient rehab in addition to group therapy sessions. But with addiction this severe and having had it for this long, these tools has not been an affective solution. This addiction needs in-patient full-time care for him to be able to conquer it.

Guild is a big teddy bear with a heart of gold. He is kind and gentle and loves being a father. His addiction has robbed him of his home, his kids, his marriage, his job, and in 2020 he tried to take his own life, leaving him with a permanent disability.

Those of you who know someone in the throes of addiction know the grips it has, not only on the individual, but also the family. Because pornography is not recognized by the DSN-15 as a mental illness, it is difficult to get insurance to pay for rehab for this kind of addiction. Therefore, as a family we are left to try and come up with the means to send him on this journey of healing.

The program we found is one that specializes in pornography and sex addiction, not just a generalized addiction program. It is right here in Southern Utah, so he can be close to family, and it offers equine therapy as part of the patient's program. It shows a high success rate and is very promising. This would not only give Guild Hope and healing, but our whole family. We would truly appreciate any amount you may be able to give on behalf of our family. Thank you and we love you all.
