Hello, my name is Linda Vasquez, and I am the daughter of our precious Elena, who everyone lovingly knew as Grandma Nena.

On Sunday evening, our family experienced the most heartbreaking tragedy imaginable. My mom and my brother were crossing the street on their way home when they were struck by a truck here in El Paso. Both were rushed to the hospital in critical condition, and for days our family prayed endlessly for their recovery.

Despite the doctors’ efforts and all of our hope, my sweet mother, Grandma Nena, fought as hard as she could but couldn’t overcome the severe injuries she suffered. On November 1st, 2025, she gained her wings, surrounded by family and love.

My mom was the heart of our family, full of love, laughter, and kindness. She had a way of making everyone feel special and always knew how to light up any room. Her warmth, her strength, and her love will forever live in our hearts.

We are creating this GoFundMe to help with funeral and burial expenses, so we can give her the peaceful and beautiful farewell she deserves. Anything you’re able to give, no matter how small, will help ease the financial burden on our family during this painful time.
