Update 12/25/25- Good morning and Merry Christmas everyone I’m looking for a miracle!
My dear Gracie has had some severe adverse reactions, and the infection has come back and attacked her eyes. She needs her right eye out immediately. It is causing her an excruciating pain and it is a ticking time bomb in her head… The thought of all of this I can not bare….If You could help us with our Christmas miracle and health get Gracie her eye surgery we would ever be so grateful! Gracie is what I get up for in the morning, the thought of losing I can’t her I can not handle …. I have attached the new estimate to get her eye removed and really if any of you can do anything small or big Gracie and I would be forever grateful. Thank you! Merry Christmas!
Hey everybody, I’m Jenn, Graceland’s mom.
Graceland is my six-year-old, 70 pounds of love, Pit mix! She is my best friend and helps me get through every day of my life with unconditional love.
As many of you know, Graceland has been sick over the past couple of months. At some point in the past, she was bitten by a tick and contracted Anaplasmosis, a horrible tick-borne disease.
A result of this Anaplasmosis is chronic condition glaucoma in her right eye, and she is permanently blind in that eye. Since we first got the diagnosis, we’ve been trying to control Grace’s glaucoma with eye drops for optical pressure and other meds. Unfortunately, the medications alone are not keeping the glaucoma controlled as we hoped. She keeps having these flare-ups that cause excruciating pain that the vets compared to us having a severe migraine for days. Poor Grace! For the past two months, I have been giving Grace drops three times a day along with numerous other medications: antibiotics, steroids, and different pain meds.
Thank God that I am disabled because doing around-the-clock care for an animal is exhausting and time-consuming.
Grace and I just talked with her vet this morning, and we believe the best option for Graceland is to get a chemical ablation in her right eye. This procedure would stop the glaucoma in her right eye, and therefore the pressures would be controlled without losing her eye. This procedure could cost up to about $1300, and there will be other medications and follow-up appointments after the surgery. I’m asking if anybody is willing to contribute to a good cause for the most wonderful dog. As some of you know, Grace is one of the most loving and kind dogs to any human. She is my emotional support dog, and she is so good at her job! Seeing Grace suffer over these past two months has been really hard, and it has already cost us a lot of money between an emergency vet and now over three appointments with her ophthalmologist specialist. So as you can imagine, things are getting expensive!
If you are in the position and can help us out, we would greatly appreciate it and you definitely would be helping one of the best dogs! Grace has a surgery for this chemical ablation scheduled for December 8 at Burlington Emergency & Veterinary Specialists in Williston, VT.
I know things are really hard right now and a lot of people are probably tight on cash, but if you have a little extra to give, we really hope you think about gifting it to us!!
I have attached the estimate, a doctor's note, and the meds she’s on currently. This would be the best Christmas gift for the both of us!
Thank you in advance for all your help!! ♥️
