Hi friends! My boyfriend found an elderly dog in the cold rain, dumped in the middle of an intersection. We took him in until we could find an owner or see if he was chipped.. except nobody came forward and he wasn't chipped. Sooooo George joined the family<3
He was covered in ticks and fleas, had matted fur all over his body, broken teeth, and could hardly walk from his overgrown toenails paired with the fur matted between his paw pads. I immediately made a vet and groomer appointment to help this sweet old man.
Between paying for the vet and groomer, buying dog food and a harness, and getting a kennel and comfy bed for George, this experience has been a whirlwind.
On top of everything, we got his test results back, showing that our Georgie has Lyme and ehrlichia (both from ticks), and is unfortunately heartworm (+). We are already in love with this sweet old man, and while we weren't expecting the vet and groomer bills, we certainly weren't expecting the lab results we received.
If you want to donate, we (and Georgie boy) would greatly appreciate it. If you'd rather donate directly to his vet, we go to Hope Veterinary Clinic in Columbus, IN (his name on record is George Luster)
Let's give this sweet boy the most amazing senior years<3
Thank you for reading our story!
