Help George Breathe Easy: Life-Changing Surgery for a Brave Frenchie

Meet George.

He’s not just a dog—he’s a survivor, a cuddle monster, a neighborhood favorite, and our living, snorting reminder that love can heal the deepest wounds. But now, George needs your help to take the next breath—literally.

George is a French Bulldog, and like many flat-faced (brachycephalic) breeds, he was born with Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome (BOAS)—a life-threatening condition that affects his ability to breathe, regulate his temperature, and simply enjoy being the active, happy boy he was meant to be.

BOAS isn’t just loud snoring or snorting (though George does both, impressively). It’s a painful reality where basic things like eating, drinking, walking in the sun, or playing with his favorite toy can lead to vomiting, fainting, or total exhaustion. He often struggles to breathe, especially when it’s warm, and every meal is a delicate dance between nourishment and nausea.

The Surgery: A Second Chance at Life

The good news? BOAS is treatable with surgery. George would undergo a procedure to widen his nostrils, shorten his soft palate, and potentially remove excess tissue in his throat—all to open up his airway and give him the freedom to breathe normally, reduce his risk of overheating, and increase his life expectancy.

Without this surgery, George’s body will continue to be overworked just trying to survive. Over time, that strain can lead to heart failure, chronic respiratory distress, and a severely shortened life.

From Kennel to Couch… to Clinic

George’s story didn’t start in a loving home. He came from a backyard breeder where he was left in a filthy kennel—his skin was raw, his body neglected, his spirit dimmed. But that’s not where his story ends.

Since being rescued, George has blossomed. With medication, his severe allergies are under control. He’s goofy. He’s gentle. He loves everyone—kids, adults, other dogs. He brings so much joy to every person he meets.

But no amount of love can fix his airway. Only this surgery can.

How You Can Help

This life-saving surgery is costly. Between consultations, the operation itself, post-op care, and follow-up visits, we are facing a bill of approximately $7,250–$9,000. Every dollar raised will go directly toward giving George the healthy future he deserves.

We know times are tough. But if you’ve ever loved a dog—or been loved by one—you know how deep that bond runs. George is fighting to breathe. You can help him take the next breath.

Please donate what you can, and help us give George the chance to finally live his life with ease, comfort, and all the belly rubs in the world.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts (and George’s snorty little nose),
