**Help My Family Give Gary Rotondo the Love and Care He Desperately Needs in His Final Days**

My name is Leah Darcy, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart and hope for compassion. My children’s father, Gary Rotondo, is in the final stages of his battle with stage four pancreatic cancer, which has now spread to his lungs and brain. He has only about a month to live.

Gary has been fighting uncontrolled diabetes, and about three weeks ago, he began experiencing multiple strokes. These have severely impacted his health, making every moment even more precious. We faced an impossible choice: leave him alone to die without care, or bring him home to Florida to be surrounded by love and family. We chose the latter because Gary’s wish was to spend his final days with his loved ones, near the ocean that he adores.

Due to insurance limitations, we’re unable to get out-of-state hospice coverage immediately. I only have two weeks’ worth of medication left, and I don’t have the means to provide the around-the-clock care he needs. I live paycheck to paycheck, and I couldn’t leave my job, so bringing him home was the only option we could consider.

We are a family of seven—five children aged 12 to 21—and, unfortunately, we have no other family here. The friends we once trusted, taken advantage of Gary’s condition by taking his vehicles and money, and leaving him with nothing. We are doing everything we can to be here for him, but we need additional support to ensure he’s never alone during this heartbreaking journey.

We are also facing the daunting task of finding a new home for us all during this incredibly difficult time. Despite these hardships, I am hopeful—we’ve secured an apartment, and I’m praying it’s the start of a fresh chapter.

In addition, we will need help covering funeral expenses, including cremation and a celebration of life. Gary Rotondo was a truly one-of-a-kind person. He helped so many families and touched countless lives with his generosity and kindness. We want to honor his memory in a way that reflects the beautiful soul he was.
