Support Freya’s Fight Against Cancer

Freya is more than just our dog — she’s our family. And right now, she needs your help.

My name is Jimmy Graves and my wife is Carriann. We’re both in our forties and we don’t have any children — Freya is our baby. Freya is a 3½-year-old blue nose pitbull that we’ve had since she was just 8 weeks old. She’s the sweetest dog you’ll ever meet — so full of love and the kindest personality. She loves nothing more than cuddling on the couch or pulling me around the block on my skateboard.

Since the day we brought her home, Freya has given us nothing but unconditional love and joy.

In the first week of February, we noticed that her lymph nodes were very enlarged. We took her to several veterinary appointments, running bloodwork, ultrasounds, X-rays, and trying a round of antibiotics. After all the tests and worry, we found out last week that our sweet Freya has lymphoma.

Our hearts were instantly broken. The thought of losing our baby girl devastated us both.

Today we had our first appointment with the oncologist. From what the doctor told us, chemotherapy for dogs isn’t as harsh as it is for humans. The last thing we want is for Freya to suffer, and the doctor assured us that with canine chemotherapy, it’s about maintaining a good quality of life. With treatment, we could have another one or even two more good years with her, and hopefully send her into remission.

Unfortunately, the cost of treatment is overwhelming it can be as much as $18,000 we have a few estimates ranging from 11,000 14,000 and 18,000 originally I started this GoFundMe with the goal of reaching 18,000 but that’s not gonna happen I have to be realistic so the goal I’m changing it $11,000 would be enough to get the chemotherapy take home from the vet I would bring it home with me and give it to her at the house if we can even reach halfway to that I could take her to Mexico because the clock is ticking every day that goes by as it is getting closer to when her medication’s gonna start wearing off so hopefully we can get to that realistic number closer to 10.

Today, we did another fine needle aspiration test on one of her lymph nodes, and we are currently waiting for the results.

In the meantime, we’re setting up this GoFundMe to see if we can raise the funds to even consider giving Freya the treatment she needs. It feels like such a huge amount, and honestly, we don’t know if we can reach it — but it’s worth trying. We will do anything for our baby girl.
