Help Us Say Goodbye to Fred with Love and Dignity

Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted supporters,

My name is Fariba, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to share our story and humbly ask for your support during the most difficult time of our lives.

My husband, Fred, has been tirelessly fighting a high grade aggressive cancer since 2022. For 3.5 years, he has endured countless treatments, surgeries, and hospitalizations at UCLA, Mission Hospital, Hoag Hospital, and rehabilitation centers.

Throughout it all, Fred remained hopeful, resilient, and full of love me and our two daughters. He fought HARD.

Fred is a devoted husband, a loving father, and has the kindest fun hearted spirit who spent his life caring for others. He came to the United States as a young student alone without family, earned a degree in Electronic Engineering, and worked tirelessly to build a better future for our family.

Despite his strength and determination, the toll of this illness has been devastating, emotionally, physically and financially. Fred has been unable to work for the past two years due to his declining health, and we’ve struggled to keep up with medical and daily living expenses.

Last week, we received heartbreaking news from his medical team: Despite spending the past 4 months in the hospital with hopes of improvement and treatment, we were told the cancer has come back with a vengeance and there's nothing he can do. Within a week, he started hospice and has less than a couple weeks left.

He has started hospice and is on the maximum amount of pain medications.

As we begin to prepare for the inevitable, we are overwhelmed with grief and the emotional and financial burden of planning his final arrangements.

This news is especially painful for our daughter, who is expecting her first child this September. Fred dreamed of meeting his first grandchild, but now we see that time wont come.

We are asking for your help to raise $25,000–$30,000 to cover funeral, burial, medical expenses, and other end-of-life expenses. Any amount, no matter how small, will bring us closer to giving him the peaceful, dignified farewell he deserves.
