Help Fred Walk Again
Fred has always been a happy, healthy, and adventurous pup. For nearly five wonderful years, he’s brought endless joy to our lives with his tail wags, goofy zoomies, and snuggles.
That’s why it was so heartbreaking when, overnight, Fred suddenly lost the ability to use his hind legs.
We rushed him to the vet, where an MRI revealed he has Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD) — a condition that affects the spine and can cause paralysis. Fred had suffered a ruptured spinal disc, going from Stage 1 to Stage 5 IVDD in less than a day. Stage 5 is the most severe form, meaning he had no motor function or pain sensation in his hind legs.
Surgery was our best hope.
We made the difficult but hopeful decision to move forward with spinal surgery, giving Fred a 50/50 chance of walking again. If he had been Stage 4, his chances would’ve been 90%. But even now, recovery is possible—with the right treatment, therapy, and time.
Now, we’re facing a long journey of rehab, medication, potential follow-ups, and possible mobility aids like a doggie wheelchair.
What Your Donation Will Help Cover:
• Spinal surgery costs
• Post-op rehabilitation and physical therapy
• Medication and vet visits
• Custom dog wheelchair (if needed)
• Any emergency or follow-up care
Fred is still the same sweet, loving dog—he just needs some extra help right now. We’re committed to giving him the best chance at healing, and we’re asking for your help to make that possible.
Every dollar, every share, and every kind word means the world to us.
Thank you for supporting Fred’s journey to walk again.
