On May 23rd, my little cousin Fátima’s life changed forever. She suffered a severe accident that resulted in an open fracture of her tibia and fibula. The impact caused complications so serious that doctors were faced with a heartbreaking decision: her life or her leg. At only 17 years old, Fátima had to undergo an amputation.

Fatima is currently in her last year of high school and has always been passionate about sports. She dedicated herself to boxing, a sport that gave her discipline, strength, and hope for the future. Despite this challenge, she dreams of returning to the ring and continuing to pursue her passion.

El 23 de mayo, la vida de mi prima Fátima cambió para siempre. Ella sufrió un accidente grave que le causó una fractura expuesta de tibia y peroné. El golpe fue tan fuerte que presentó complicaciones severas, y los doctores tuvieron que tomar una decisión difícil: su vida o su pierna. Con tan solo 17 años, Fátima tuvo que someterse a una amputación.

Actualmente, Fátima cursa el 4º grado de preparatoria y siempre ha sido una joven apasionada por el deporte. Su disciplina favorita es el boxeo, el cual le dio fuerza, disciplina y esperanza para su futuro. A pesar de esta difícil prueba, su sueño sigue siendo regresar al ring y continuar con su pasión.
