Give Ezekiel a Chance at a Pain-Free Life

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Yasmin Potts-Thomas and I am writing on behalf of my cousin Shivon Mohammed and her 4-year-old son Ezekiel who reside in Trinidad and Tobago.

Ezekiel and his mother have been told that he is suffering from severe eczema (never properly diagnosed) since he was 6 months old; however, it has gotten significantly worse since he started pre-school 2 years ago. His condition has become unbearable and is not just a simple rash—it is a constant painful struggle that has adversely affected his quality of life. Ezekiel's skin condition is so severe that he can no longer attend school or go outside to play as the sun and heat are too much for him to bear. His skin over most of his body is red, swollen, and raw from scratching and rubbing. As he requires a full-time caretaker, his mother is unable to work and has had to depend on the kindness of family and friends for support and doctor bills.

Ezekiel's daily routine consists of his mother wrapping his body in wet dressings and soothing oils and lotions every 4 hours in an attempt to relieve his pain. Despite this, when severe flare-ups occur (at least once a month), he must be brought to the hospital. They treat him for infections and give a short supply of antibiotics and release him. Sadly, once the medications are finished, the flare-ups come back. As they don't have adequate insurance, doctors refuse to give further treatment or run tests for a proper diagnosis. They tell his mother that his condition isn't severe enough for specialized care and only make suggestions to change soaps, food, and bedding, all of which they have done. Meanwhile, he continues to suffer with no help in sight.

Ezekiel has no friends, is constantly crying and frustrated from discomfort, and his condition has stripped him of the joy of being a child. We desperately want him to receive proper treatment and a chance at a pain-free life. He deserves to be a child again, to play, to make friends, and attend school without the agony of this condition affecting him. Any donation will go towards Ezekiel's medical expenses, including necessary tests and treatments, specialist visits, medications, and special care items for their home. His mother is no longer able to manage the expenses and desperately needs a long-term recovery plan.

Thank you for taking the time to read Ezekiel's story and considering helping him and his mother during this difficult time. Please open your hearts to this sweet boy and offer a donation or a prayer to help with his recovery.
