Hi! My name is Bryan. I am trying to raise money to modify an electric go kart for my buddy Elijah. Elijah is a 11 year old boy who was diagnosed with a tumor in his brain as an infant and due to the location of the tumor and the surgery he needed to remove it, he struggles with motor coordination. He is unable to process multiple tasks at once, such as operating pedals and a steering wheel simultaneously. Yet Elijah loves to go fast, feel the wind in his hair, and feel some independence. He has tried many different types of vehicles, but none of them were able to meet his needs for him to be able to control on his own. I will use the money I raise to purchase an electric go cart for Elijah and then modify it with safety features such as a five point harness and engineer a joystick he can use to accelerate and steer using a single motion. And of course his mom and dad will have a separate off button to use when necessary. This will allow him to independently control the go kart by only having to use one hand motion at a time. Elijah got the biggest smile when I told him what I would make for him! With any left over funds I am hoping to add some of his favorite features, lots of lights and a Bluetooth speaker to play his favorite band: For King & Country.
