My name is Durk, and I am a three 1/2-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier. I am reaching out to you with a heavy heart because I am currently facing a challenging time. I have been diagnosed with a torn ligament in my rear right leg, (Cranial Cruciate Ligament) which requires a TPLO surgery.
I live with my sweet sister Zee, and we fill our days with various activities. Despite my large head and broad shoulders, I'm gentle, obedient and affectionate, and always eager to please. I thrive on the companionship of my family and my little sister.
My life has always been active and adventurous. Each morning and evening, I enjoy going for walks. On my dad's days off, we go on hiking trails, exploring the beauty of nature together. I've made it my mission to visit as many parks as possible in Elk Grove, and so far, I've proudly explored 64 out of the 103 parks!
In the warm summer months, I adore swimming in the American River, feeling the cool water against my fur, and during winter, I can't wait to play in the snow at Lake Tahoe. Unfortunately, my injury has put a significant 'paws' on all of this. The surgery I need is quite expensive, and my family needs help to cover the costs.
That's why I'm turning to you, kind-hearted friends and animal lovers. With your support, even a small donation can make a world of difference. Your generosity will help me get the surgery I need to heal and return to the active life I love.
Please consider helping me on this journey to recovery. Your kindness and compassion mean everything to me and my family, and it would allow me to chase after my dreams once again—whether running through the parks or splashing in the river. From the bottom of my big, loving heart, thank you for considering a donation to help me heal.
With gratitude and tail wags,
Durk
