Give Duke the Gift of Greater Mobility
Donation protected
My name is Denise and I have a son named Duke. He has struggled with a myriad of health issues over his 26 years, but within the last few years, he has had to deal with some pretty debilitating ones, one of which is Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS).
CFS has been very limiting and isolating for Duke. He can't walk very far without getting exhausted and needing to sit or lie down. Even sitting can exhaust him, so most days are spent in bed. He can no longer go out in the community, walk around, or visit stores, and family outings are near impossible. Because of all of this, he is unable to work either.
He is wanting to get a motorized, reclining wheelchair which will give him some freedom back. He can steer himself around without having to rely on others. If he has an exhaustion episode, he has the option to recline while he recovers, and it will give him the ability to “walk” around and live a better life.
As you can guess, these kinds of wheelchairs are not cheap, which is why I started this fundraiser for him. Any help you are able to provide would be so appreciated.
