Hello, my name is Alyssa. Abeer Farra reached out to me for help through a mutual friend. Some words from Dr. Abeer herself:

I am Dr. Abeer from Deir AlBalah, Gaza, mother to my 18-month-old son, Hassan. I became pregnant three months before the war and gave birth under bombardment in an under-equipped hospital. Since then, Hassan has suffered from malnutrition and health issues caused by polluted water and the harsh reality of life in Gaza.

I dream of saving my family and continuing my higher studies in pharmacy abroad, but the costs are beyond our reach. Please support us to build a safe future.

Before the war, I lived a happy and stable life with my husband. I worked in a pharmacy with a good income, and my husband worked in an insurance company. We dreamed of a bright future and prepared joyfully for the arrival of our first child , but the war began and ourlife turned upside down.

After his birth, our suffering continued. We struggled to provide even the basics for Hassan. Today he is older (18 months old) , but his entire life is marked by fear, illness, and deprivation.

This war destroyed everything:

I lost my job, and my husband lost his.

Our sources of income are gone.

The cost of living in Gaza has become unbearable. All universities have been destroyed, making it impossible to continue my education here.

My dream is to leave Gaza with my small family – to save my son from this harsh reality, and to pursue my lifelong dream of completing my Master’s and PhD in pharmacy. But the costs of travel, education, and living outside Gaza are extremely high, requiring thousands of dollars just to cover the bare minimum.

I write to you with hope in my heart, asking for your support. Please help me give Hassan the safe and healthy childhood every child deserves, and give me the chance to continue my education and serve humanity as I have always wished.

Any and all donations will be used to cover the costs of travel coordination from Gaza through the border, flight tickets, accommodation abroad, University fees, and living expenses.

I speak to you as a mother who fears for her child, and as a woman who still holds on to hope despite everything. Your support is our lifeline to safety, dignity, and peace.
