On November 27, 2022, Sara welcomed a delightful boy named Dozer into her life. He is estimated to be between 3 and 5 years old. From that day forward, they have been utterly inseparable. Dozer has become Sara's beloved companion, arriving at precisely the right moment.

Recently, Dozer was diagnosed with several significant health issues, including Bilateral Cranial Cruciate Ligament disease, severe luxating patellas, arthritis, and early signs of IVDD. These conditions have led to noticeable neurological mobility issues on top of his orthopedic problems, making even short walks incredibly painful for him. To ensure he has any quality of life moving forward, he will require surgery on both his hind CCLs and both his luxating patellas. This extensive procedure is essential to alleviate his pain and enable him to walk without significant discomfort.

His pet insurance has approved reimbursement for 80% of the surgical costs, which is a great help. However, the insurance does not cover any of his physical therapy, which has been strongly recommended by his veterinarians. Given that both of his legs will be operated on simultaneously, physical therapy will be absolutely crucial for his successful recovery and rehabilitation. Furthermore, this therapy is vital in helping him heal in a way that avoids putting strain on his back, thereby minimizing the risk of an IVDD flare-up that could potentially lead to paralysis. The estimated out-of-pocket expenses for the remaining 20% of the surgery and the initial, essential physical therapy will be at least $5,000.
