Give Dogs a Second Chance at Life

My name is Lucia Capitanini, the owner of Coco's Chains, and I am fundraising for Second City Canine Rescue in memory of my dog, Coco, who passed away. I fundraise by selling jewelry, clothing, and accessories at craft fairs and online, and donating 10% of all sales. This incredible organization is dedicated to rescuing and rehoming homeless animals and placing them into loving homes.

A backstory: Second City Canine Rescue is a very important organization to me because it is the organization that brought my fantastic friend, Coco, into my life. Coco was a senior rescue dog who found her way to me through the compassionate efforts of Second City Canine Rescue. Coco was a small, 15-year-old dog who was originally from Alabama. She had a rough year in 2021 when her previous owner passed away, and she was passed through multiple shelters before SSCR could drive to Alabama and save her from an overcrowded shelter. SSCR has an unwavering dedication to rescuing and rehoming dogs like Coco; this has not only changed the lives of countless animals but has also transformed my own life; I do not know where I would be without Coco. As shown in Coco's story, their rescue operations often rely on vans to transport dogs to safety. Unfortunately, these vehicles occasionally face breakdowns, which can hurt their mission. SSCR is a non-profit organization that is primarily volunteer-run and relies on donations to function. This is where each person’s order makes difference. By purchasing from Coco’s Chains, you are contributing to my fundraising campaign for Second City Canine Rescue, and you will directly support the repair costs for their vans, upkeep of the shelter, and care for every dog at their shelter. Ten cents of each dollar spent at Coco’s Chains will help keep the shelter alive and allow them to reach more dogs in need, providing them with a second chance at life and the love they deserve.
