Hello everyone! My name is Isabella and I am an ex-foster of Dixie. A little bit about Dixie, she was left outside in a kennel by her former owners and was not given the love she deserved. Eventually she was surrendered at the age of 6 and she has now found a loving home! Unfortunately, Dixie was diagnosed with heartworm disease, and she needs urgent medical treatment to recover and live a happy, healthy life.

Heartworm disease is a serious condition caused by parasitic worms that can damage the heart, lungs, and blood vessels if untreated. Unfortunately, the treatment process is both intensive and expensive, requiring a combination of medications, bloodwork, and injections over several months. The estimated cost for Dixie's treatment, including vet visits, diagnostic tests, medication, and follow-ups, will total approximately $450.
