Hi everyone,
Recently, my beloved dog Disco was diagnosed with Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD), a spinal condition that causes the discs between a dog’s vertebrae to degenerate or rupture, resulting in severe pain, nerve damage, and in some cases paralysis. This condition is especially common in small breeds like dachshunds and it can progress fast.
Disco is only 6 years old and has always been happy, loving, and above all my best friend. To know him is to love him, as I know you all do. He lights up every room he enters. Watching him struggle with something that happened so suddenly has been heartbreaking.
Overnight, his condition declined rapidly. His veterinary team is now recommending emergency imaging and surgery to give him the best chance at recovery. We are looking at an MRI and surgery with total costs estimated between $11,000 and $15,000 and we are facing this timeline in days, not weeks.
Disco is my shadow. He has been by my side through everything, and I am not willing to give up on him. I am exploring every option available, but the cost of his care is more than I can manage alone.
If you’re able to contribute, no matter the amount, it would mean the world to Disco and me. If donating isn’t possible, sharing this fundraiser is an incredible help. Every dollar goes directly toward his diagnostics, surgery, and recovery.
Thank you for loving him with me.
With love and gratitude,
Hannah and Disco
