My name is Rukayyah Yussuf Project leader of Hope for the Community Foundation in Tanzania that supports vulnerable people through education, water, and community development projects.

For more than ten years, our organization has worked closely with rural communities to improve access to basic services and opportunities. One of the most important areas we focus on is education, because education can transform the future of a child and the entire community.

Today, I am raising funds to help build a hostel for students with disabilities at Nyangwa Primary School in Murufiti Village, Kasulu District, Kigoma Region, Tanzania.

What We Are Raising Funds For

Nyangwa Primary School serves about 650 students from surrounding villages. Among them are 60 children with physical disabilities who study in the school's special education unit.

Many of these children live several kilometers away from the school. Traveling to school every day is extremely difficult. Some students must be carried by their parents or relatives because walking long distances is painful and exhausting.

During the rainy season the situation becomes even worse. Village roads become muddy and dangerous, making it almost impossible for some children to reach school. Because of this, many students miss classes frequently and risk dropping out of school completely.

To solve this problem, Hope of the Community Foundation plans to build a small hostel at the school where these children can stay safely during the school term.

Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, regardless of physical ability.

These students are determined to get an education, but the long and difficult journey to school makes it incredibly hard for them to attend regularly.

A hostel at school will completely change their lives.

It will allow them to:

Focus on their studies

Build independence and confidence

Most importantly, it will give them the dignity and opportunity that every child deserves.

What We Have Already Achieved

Hope of the Community Foundation has already supported Nyangwa Primary School with important improvements.

With help from generous donors, we have already built:

A modern classroom

Accessible toilets for children with disabilities

These improvements have helped many students. However, the distance to school remains the biggest challenge, which is why building a hostel is now our priority.

*How the Funds Will Be Used*

The estimated cost to build the hostel is $25,000 USD.

The funds will be used for:

Building materials

Construction labour

Beds and basic furniture

Accessible sanitation facilities

Basic safety improvements

Every donation will go directly toward building a safe and supportive home for these students.

Project Timeline

Once the funds are raised, construction is expected to take 4–6 months.

After completion, the hostel will immediately begin serving the 60 students with disabilities at Nyangwa Primary School.
