It is with shattered hearts that we share the tragic and sudden loss of our beloved brother, son, father, and friend, Derick Jackson. At just 34 years old, Derick’s life was taken from us in South Los Angeles in an act of senseless violence. He leaves behind his 11-year-old son, Dre, who was the absolute light of his life.

Derick was truly one of a kind. He was the kindest soul, someone who would give you the shirt off his back without a second thought. He was larger than life, full of love, laughter, and an energy that could light up any room. With his perfect white smile and joyful spirit, he made everyone around him feel cared for and welcomed. As the oldest child, he carried a deep sense of responsibility and love for his family, and his son Dre was his pride and joy.

This tragedy has left our family devastated and unprepared for the overwhelming financial burden of funeral expenses. We would love to lay Derick to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery, where generations of our family are buried. Unfortunately, we do not have the funds to give him the farewell he deserves, and without support, we cannot move forward in setting a date for his service.

We are asking for your help, no amount is too small. Every contribution will go directly toward Derick’s funeral expenses and celebration of life so we can honor his memory and say goodbye in the way he deserves.
