A Journey to Hearing and a Better Future
Hello, my name is Akbar Nurlybayev, and I am fundraising on behalf of Dara Nursultankyzy, the daughter of my third cousin. Dara is a brave 4-year-old girl from Kazakhstan who was born with bilateral microtia, a rare congenital condition where both ears are underdeveloped or absent. Without surgery, this condition can lead to hearing loss, speech delays, and significant challenges in daily life.
A Life-Changing Surgery in the U.S.
Dara’s family has been tirelessly working to give her a better future. Thanks to their incredible efforts, they were able to fund her first surgery in December 2024. Now, she needs her second and final procedure—a complex left ear reconstruction with OSIA hearing implant placement, scheduled for April 9, 2025, in Los Angeles, USA.
This specialized surgery is only performed by a handful of surgeons worldwide, and Dr. Youssef Tahiri, one of the leading pediatric reconstructive surgeons, will be performing it. The OSIA implant will allow her to hear more clearly, drastically improving her ability to communicate and develop like other children her age.
The Urgent Need for Support
Dara’s parents have done everything possible to raise funds for her medical treatment, but raising money for this second surgery has been challenging. While they have already made a $5,000 payment, they still need $45,000 USD ($65,000 CAD) to cover the remaining balance of $63,300 USD.
The payment is due by early March, and we are running out of time. We are asking for your kindness and generosity to help Dara receive the surgery she desperately needs.
