Give Dale a Chance at a Happy, Healthy Future

This sweet brindle boy, who I’m affectionately calling Dale, wandered into my yard on July 20. He didn’t have a tag or microchip, and after a thorough attempt to find his owners, I truly believe he has been abandoned.

Despite a possible troubled past, he’s been nothing short of the best boy! I took it upon myself to get him vaccinated, and his blood sample determined he tested positive for both heartworm and ehrlichia. Both of these are highly preventable, which only contributes to the narrative that he wasn’t being properly taken care of. Despite heartworm being preventable, an untreated diagnosis will almost certainly lead to death.

When I was told about Dale’s diagnosis, there was absolutely a part of me that didn’t know if I’d be able to afford the treatment he needed. After all, he came into my life so suddenly, I’ve barely had any time to adjust. However, I feel so strongly that I need to be the one to make sure this dog has the most amazing, healthy life ahead of him. I adore him more and more every day, and I can’t wait to be on the other side of these diseases living our best lives together!
