Title: Emergency Vet Surgery Support for Cooper

If you’ve had the pleasure of knowing Journey or Chris, then you also know their sweet dog, Cooper—and just how deeply he’s loved. These two are always showing up for their communities, and now is our chance to show up for them.

On Thanksgiving day, Cooper experienced a life-or-death medical emergency that left them with a very hard decision to make in only a 15-minute window: to pay for a $15,000 surgery or to euthanize. “Cooper had a tumor on his spleen that ruptured Thursday afternoon. At the time I didn’t know what was happening, other than a rapid decline with his health. When his breathing became labored, we rushed him to the vet ER.

He had critical levels of internal bleeding and was in a state of shock. We had about 15 minutes to decide if we euthanize on the spot or do exploratory surgery that cost $15k.

We opted for surgery. He may still have cancer, but at least we have more time.”
