My name is Kate. Due to ongoing health challenges, I wasn’t able to do the kind of work I once could — but I still wanted to make a difference. With the constant support of my amazing family, I began volunteering with a cat rescue.
Although I couldn’t always manage the heavy, hands-on tasks, I opened my home to cats and kittens in need. Caring for them, nurturing them, and watching them grow until they found their forever homes, it brought me purpose and joy during a difficult time. None of this would have been possible without my family’s help and encouragement.
What I witnessed opened my eyes: countless cats and kittens living in colonies, fighting every day to survive.
Many compassionate people already step in to help, often spending their own money—but it’s costly, and they can’t do it alone.
That’s why I’m launching an initiative to give back.
With your support, I’ll be working alongside my trusted independent vet, Nicky Gurrin at Norbury Pet Health Centre , to provide TNR (Trap–Neuter–Return) services.
Every donation will go directly toward neutering, spaying, vaccinating, Feeding and caring for these colony cats.
Here’s how it works:
• Most cats will be returned to their colonies after recovery, healthier and unable to keep reproducing.
• Friendly cats and kittens will be socialized and adopted into loving homes.
• Every penny from adoptions will be reinvested to help even more colonies.
Cat colonies can be found behind businesses, in gardens, and in quiet corners of our neighborhoods. By stabilizing these populations, we give these cats safer, healthier lives — and prevent countless future litters.
Thanks to supporters like you, Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) programs are giving feral cats a chance to live out their lives without adding to the homeless cat population. Spaying and neutering isn’t just effective — it’s an act of kindness that protects cats from harm.
When colonies are stabilized, every cat benefits: there’s more space, more food, better shelter, and far fewer risks of disease.
Spayed females avoid ovarian, uterine, and breast cancers.
Neutered males avoid testicular cancer and are less likely to fight or suffer injuries.
Best of all, with regular care, these cats can live long, healthy lives — sometimes more than ten years.
Your generosity makes this possible. Every gift you give helps another cat avoid needless suffering, while ensuring entire colonies can live peacefully and well.
By standing with these cats, you’ve brought them safety, comfort, and the promise of a brighter future.
Thank you so much for reading my appeal. While we’ve set an initial goal, this will be an ongoing effort to ensure these cats continue to receive the love and care they need.
