Hoi! Ik ben Nika en ik start deze GoFundMe omdat ik iets moois wil doen voor de kinderen in het dorp Nagari Sungai Pinang in West-Sumatra. Ik ben hier vier maanden geweest. De kinderen daar krijgen zelden les in kunst of muziek — er is gewoon geen plek voor. Soms doen ze iets creatiefs op een kleedje of in het restaurant van Ricky’s Beach House, maar dat is niet genoeg.
Mijn droom is om een echt leslokaal te bouwen bij Ricky’s Beach House, waar kinderen elke week creatief bezig kunnen zijn met muziek, dans, tekenen en schilderen. Het geld gaat naar de bouw van het lokaal én naar spullen zoals instrumenten en verf. Help je mee om dit mogelijk te maken?
OVER SUMATRA PROJECT
Deze inzameling maakt deel uit van het Sumatra-project, opgericht door Ricky Putra Sinaro vanuit Ricky’s Beach House. Ricky’s missie is toerisme te combineren met natuurbehoud en gemeenschapsontwikkeling. Vrijwilligers helpen bij de bescherming van zeeschildpadden en koraal, Engelse les en trainen jongeren in duurzaam toerisme. Het project creëert een ontmoetingsplek voor toeristen en lokale bewoners, gericht op gastvrijheid, culturele uitwisseling en maatschappelijke betrokkenheid.

Hi! I’m Nika, and I’m starting this GoFundMe because I want to do something meaningful for the children in the village of Nagari Sungai Pinang in West Sumatra. I have been here for four months. The children there rarely receive lessons in art or music — simply because there’s no space for it. Sometimes they do something creative on a mat or at the restaurant of Ricky’s Beach House, but that’s not enough. During my nearly four months at Ricky’s Beach House, I have experienced the urge to make a positive impact on the village.
My dream is to build a real classroom at Ricky’s Beach House, where children can engage in creative activities like music, dance, drawing, and painting every week. The money will go toward building the classroom as well as buying supplies like instruments and paint. Will you help us make this dream come true?
ABOUT THE SUMATRA PROJECT
This fundraiser is part of the Sumatra Project, founded by Ricky Putra Sinaro from Ricky’s Beach House. Ricky’s mission is to combine tourism with nature conservation and community development. Volunteers help the sea turtle project and coral reefs, provide English classes, and train young people in sustainable tourism. The project creates a space for tourists and local residents to come together, focusing on hospitality, cultural exchange, and social engagement.
