My name is Jolene and I'm raising funds for my cat Chester, who we affectionately call "Himz".

Himz came into my life a few years ago as a stray. He refused to leave my home until he "owned" me, lol. We are a bonded pair. He is my familiar. I guarantee you won't find another cat like him. He likes to sit on his bum and look like your typical beer-drinking, cigar-smoking, chubby guy on an old couch, lol.

Last week, he started to sound funny. Basically, he was diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection. However, he may have a more aggressive form called calicivirus. This left him with painful ulcers in his mouth, so now he can't eat. My other cat had just come back from the vet when this happened. So, I already paid $3000 to save my other cat from a urinary blockage. I've already spent thousands on Himz, and our bank account is dwindling. It was money we had saved for a down payment on our house. He was just approved for a feeding tube which will allow him to bypass the ulcers and receive nutrients and a more aggressive antibiotic. I never did a GoFundMe before and thought I'd never have to. But I'm hoping there are others out there who know how it is when you have a bonded familiar that you will fight to the bitter end for.
