Give Charlowe a Chance: Fund Life-Saving Treatment

Hi this is my brother Charlowe, 30years of age, who was misdiagnosed by his primary care physician in Newport news Virginia for gastritis. Now my brother has been battling with Stage IV Appendiceal cancer with pseudomyxoma peritonie since June 2023. He had his first Cytoreductive surgery with HIPEC successfully done on his lower abdomen leaving him with an ileostomy tube last July 2023 But his 2nd part of surgery for the upper abdominal cavity was aborted last October 2023 because the tumor was unresectable as per his doctor here in Richmond, Virginia and ended up just putting a jejunostomy tube for his nutritional feedings. In the past few months he has not been able to tolerate his tube feedings and has been having a lot of abdominal pain and discomfort. He started to have nausea and vomiting that you can’t even imagine. He vomits 10-12 times a day with 200-300mL vomitus. Now he is currently on Total Parenteral Nutrition because his food intake is not enough and his body is rejecting the tube feedings through his jejunostomy tube. Doctor’s are trying to control his symptoms for now but the main problem is still not addressed which is the mucinous tumor that is still in his belly surrounding his organs that continues to grow and multiply in numbers. His current surgical oncologist and oncologist said there is nothing else they can do for him but I found a doctor from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania UPMC who is willing to help my brother. Our hold back is only the out of pocket payments because he has Virginia medicaid health insurance since he got sick last June 2023 and it won’t cover expenses out of state. We need him to have the CT scans, Interventional Radiologist insert the catheters for the administration of the Bromac medication that can target this rare cancer and anti nausea intravenous medications during his 2 weeks initial stay in Pittsburgh. Please help us give my 30 year old brother a chance to live and give this medication a chance to cure him and alleviate his devastating pain and discomfort in each and everyday. His doctor’s in Virginia have him on Palliative Care and are pushing for Hospice care because they said there’s nothing else they can do for him. But now with the help of a surgical oncologist at UPMC in Pittsburgh he might get a chance to be cured and to live longer with us, his loved ones. Please help us with your act of kindness, even a small amount of help really goes a long way for my brother Charlowe Hidalgo. He is young and he deserves to live longer, he is just 30 years old and has dealt with a lot pain and sufferings in the past year just because of his PCP’s negligence thinking it was just gastritis treating him with Famotidine medication and no other things were done.
