Hi, my name is Laurie, and I’m fundraising for my sweet dog, Carter. Carter is 7 years old, and he’s been my best friend and constant companion since he was just 2 months old. He means the world to me — he truly is like my child.

Recently, Carter became extremely sick and was hospitalized. After several tests, he was diagnosed with Addison’s disease and chronic liver failure. Both conditions are lifelong and not curable, but with proper treatment, close monitoring, and regular care, Carter can continue to live a happy life for as long as possible.

His sudden health crisis required an emergency hospitalization, where he was treated for dehydration, malnourishment, and what the veterinarians believe was an Addisonian crisis. That hospital stay alone cost $7,000. While I would spend anything to save him, it has left me in a very difficult financial position.

On top of that, Carter now needs lifelong medications, routine vet visits, and monitoring tests to manage both Addison’s disease and his liver condition. These ongoing costs add up quickly, and I am asking for any help I can get to make sure Carter gets the care he needs.

Every dollar goes directly to his medical expenses — from medications to lab work to follow-up veterinary visits. Even the smallest contribution makes a difference and helps give Carter the best chance to keep living his life with comfort, love, and dignity.
