It seems silly to be asking for money for a dog right now, but Buddy is pretty special. I know. Everyone thinks that about their dog.
My name is Sarah, and my husband’s name is Mark. I’m a teacher, and he’s a orthotic technician. He’s my college sweetheart who I married late. We tried and lost 5 babies. I started dealing with my grief and decided we needed Buddy. He was supposed to be our last baby.
He was the runt, a rescue, a pyr/lab mix with all the sweetness of a dog who has found his people. A week after bringing him home, he came down with Parvo (the puppy killing virus). We got him through with a lot of tears and sleepless nights.
We had a scare a year later, thinking he had torn a ligament because of a misdiagnosis from an emergency vet, and were so relieved to learn they were long. I learned very quickly about pet insurance and got him some. I made sure they would cover any emergencies.
Meanwhile, we were thrown a curve ball, and found out we were pregnant. We waited to lose that baby like the rest, but God had other plans. Anna was born a month before Buddy turned two, and now they are the best of friends. The adoration is mutual, and I feel so blessed to have a front row seat to this blossoming relationship and what he’ll teach her.
About 3 months ago, the insurance company sent me a letter stating that they are no longer going to cover torn ligaments. Sigh, and then guess what happened…he tore a ligament.
I realize this is a long shot, but life has thrown us so many curveballs and we desperately need help. Buddy’s surgery has been quoted at $4,000.
If you can help in any way, a girl and her dog would be eternally grateful.
