Hi my name is Prinn Vandegrift. I have a best friend named Brittany! She is only 37 years old. She’s the most loyal, honest, energetic, fun, happy, helpful, positive human being. She is smart and tenacious! Very outgoing and hardworking! There wasn’t anything she wasn’t willing to try with me ! She’s absolutely beautiful inside and out .

On December 27, 2022 her world and ours totally changed. It started with a simple head ache. This got considerable worse very quickly. It wasn’t long before we knew she needed medical treatment right away and we rushed her to the Heart hospital. Upon arrival they quickly med flighted her to St Vincent where we were later told she had a ruptured aneurysm that in turn caused her to have a series of secondary strokes . Only 11 out of 100 people survive this medical emergency! She was one of the lucky ones .

Because of her tenacious spirit and will to live she has made a miraculous recovery. She was hospitalized for several months and every day we were told she was critical and we would have to wait until she woke up to know the damage caused by the stroke . Even then it wasn’t assured to us that she would even wake up . But SHE DID ! Beating insurmountable odds she has not only woken up, but she is now home with us,and able to eat without a feeding tube . She is doing her best to recover what parts of her body she can. Due to the result of the stroke one side of her body, her left side ,, was affected the most! Unfortunately she is also left handed . She is currently in a wheelchair and needs help with just about everything, but the good news is her memory and ability to think and process information were not damaged. Her brain and her body just don’t communicate correctly so her motor skills are not working properly.

Recently we were told about a medical procedure done by the Institute of neurology in Boca Raton Florida by Dr. Edward Tobinick that could greatly improve her current situation if not cue the damage totally! As you can imagine this procedure is an opportunity to give Britt her life back !
