Hello, my name is Breona Jackson and I’m reaching out for help during a time of need. I am a mother of two beautiful children, both of whom have unique challenges that require constant care. My daughter, who is 9, has been suffering from severe chronic asthma since she was just 3 months old. Her asthma is triggered by environmental factors, and over the past 9 years, she has spent more time in and out of the hospital than I could ever have imagined. Tragically, I gave birth to her after witnessing the traumatic loss of my father and enduring a violent domestic situation. It’s been a struggle to keep up with her medical needs, and as a result, I’ve lost multiple jobs that I tried to hold down to support us.
I also have a son, who is 3 years old and is showing signs of developmental delays. He is in the process of being tested for autism, but we won’t know for sure until October when we can officially apply for the state’s disability services. The pressure of caring for both of them has been overwhelming, and I feel like I'm constantly fighting just to keep my head above water.
Currently, I’m homeless, living between family and hotels. The situation has drained my finances, and I haven’t been able to save enough money to get back on my feet. In the past few months, we’ve been stuck in a hotel, and the cost of staying there has made it nearly impossible to save up for a stable home. Despite my daughter being denied disability benefits three times, I am still trying to advocate for her and my son to get the help they deserve.
Recently, I was approved for a three-bedroom apartment based on my income, but there is a significant past-due utility bill that I can’t afford to pay off. Without this bill being settled, I won’t be able to move into the apartment and finally provide my children with the stability they need.
This is why I’m reaching out for help. I’m asking for donations to help us pay off this past-due bill and secure a stable home. I want nothing more than to be able to provide my children with a safe, consistent place to live where they can thrive. Every little bit helps, and I truly appreciate any support you can offer during this difficult time.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story, and for any help you can give. Your kindness will make a world of difference to my family.
