Give Brenna and Her Son a Fresh Start

Hi, my name is Brenna. I’m 23 years old, from Ohio, and I’m finally taking the first steps to rebuild a better life for me and my 2-year-old son. When I was 20, I was manipulated and drawn into a toxic relationship with a much older man—he was 37 at the time. Now he’s 40, and after years of emotional and financial abuse, I’m doing everything I can to break free and give my son the life he deserves.

I never ask for help—like, ever. But right now, I don’t have a choice.

I don’t have a big support system, and I’ve been in a toxic, controlling relationship for the past three years. I’ve had no access to money, no independence, and every time I try to get a job or make a move to support myself, he finds a way to stop me. He controls everything—even the car. So when I leave, I won’t have transportation. I won’t have stable income. I won’t even have the basics.

This isn’t easy to share, but I’m trying to leave and start fresh with nothing. I’m asking for help to get housing, food, transportation, and safety—for both of us. I just want to give my son a peaceful, stable home.I recently shared my story on TikTok, and so many people encouraged me to make a GoFundMe—so here I am, even though asking for help is really hard for me.
