Boone’s Medical Emergency

On Friday night, Boone was his usual happy, playful self. By Saturday morning, everything changed—he could barely stand on his back legs, and the pain was unbearable. He cried, drooled, and looked at us with confusion and fear. We rushed him to emergency care, where the vet diagnosed him with Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD).

We were given three options:

1. Surgery – Costing between $13,000 and $15,000, with a 50-60% chance of full recovery.

2. Pain Management – Giving him medication and hoping for improvement.

3. Euthanasia – A heartbreaking option we refuse to consider.

We initially started with pain medication, but by the end of the day, Boone’s condition worsened—his back legs were completely paralyzed, leaving him unable to stand or relieve himself. Our only real hope was surgery, and despite the financial strain, we chose to fight for Boone.
