Give Bojangles a Chance at a Pain-Free Life

Donation protected
My name is Mary. I’m asking for help funding hip dysplasia surgery for my cat, Bojangles. He has hip dysplasia in both hips and was born this way. He’s a Maine Coon kitten, just turning one year old. When we got Bojangles, we didn’t realize he was born with this problem. We recently brought him to a veterinary specialist and were informed that he needed hip surgery in both hips.

Bojangles' ball sockets will not support his disfigured balls that fit into the joint. This means he will have to have the balls that fit into the joints removed, and the muscles will be connected to the bone. This will not correct the total problem, but will enable Bojangles to walk relatively pain-free. Bojangles is only one year old and is a Maine Coon, and will grow to be quite a large cat.

If we do not have the hip surgery done, eventually he will not be able to walk. The sooner we get the surgery, the better Bojangles will be, and he will be relatively pain-free. As you can imagine, this type of surgery is expensive and our other alternative would be to have Bojangles euthanized down the road when the pain gets too bad if we don’t have the surgery. We are asking for whatever help you feel you can give and appreciate you reading our story. Thank you.
