Hello, I'm Michelle, Bodie's foster momma. We have had him for over a year after he was discarded because he wasn't perfect. He was believed to be going blind. He was rescued off the streets in California and found his way to us. We got him medical attention and on good food, and his eyes cleared up. He was thriving until the week of Christmas when he suddenly was unable to walk. I took him to his vet, and they recommended I take him to a neurologist.
So, Tuesday 12/23, we traveled 4 hours to the nearest neurologist available. He had an MRI and was diagnosed with a herniated disc in his neck, which is causing the loss of his limbs. He desperately needs to have surgery, but after spending $5400.00 for his diagnosis, we didn't have the funds to do the $8k surgery. We contacted WSU for an estimate, which is lower but still $5-7k. I've tried to contact the rescue through all of this for their help, only to be told they are shutting down.
Please help us help Bodie walk again. He has so much life left to live, and he is loved by his new family.
