Give Binx a Fighting Chance Against FIP

This is my cat Binx. Our story with Binx began on March 17th, 2021. This is the day we rescued Binx, or the way I like to say it, he rescued me. We found him on our Gazebo hurt and starving. We had wet cat food in the house so we fed him, and I asked Charlie, "Can we keep her?" (At the time he was so malnourished we couldn't tell he was a boy until a few days later once he had some nutrients in him.) It was a long road getting him healthy, but we finally did over the years we were blessed with two more cats who rescued us, Baby and Benny. When Binx and Baby met, they were instantly best friends. They became a bonded pair. One does not do well without the other.
Fast forward to about a week ago, Binx started acting unlike himself. He would hide most of the time. His once very healthy appetite began to slowly fade. By Tuesday afternoon, we had him to the vets because of this and his belly was bloated. Tuesday we received the news that is every pet parents worst nightmare. Our little boy, who was estimated to be only four years old, was dying. He has wet Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP). FIP is a viral disease caused by a feline coronavirus that affects wild and domestic cats. The wet form of the disease causes fluid to collect in the belly, giving the cat a pot-bellied look. Fluid can also gather in the chest, making it hard for the cat to breathe. Wet FIP harms the blood vessels, leading to inflammation and fluid leaking from the blood into the abdomen and chest. Without immediate antiviral treatment, he only had days left. This treatment is very expensive and not readily available at animal hospitals because it is pending approval from the FDA. We were blessed to be directed to the FIP Warriors 5.0 group on Facebook who guided us along the way to get enough doses to start treatment yesterday until our shipment of medicine arrives tomorrow. Binx did so much better today now he had his first injection. We woke up to the sounds of him munching on his cat food. We have hope.
Our expenses are adding up very quickly, estimated cost for treatments, supplies and tests could total $8,000 if you are able, please help us on our journey to help our Warrior Binx.
Love, Charlie, Steffi, Binx, Bebe & Benny
