Hi. This is Lisa. I’m raising $5000 to purchase a golf cart for my best friend Betsy Emison, who has brain cancer.

Betsy is amazing and I’m so proud of her. Fifteen years ago, after her cancer diagnosis and subsequent brain surgery, she somehow continued with her life with humor and gratitude. She still laughed and joked and gardened and traveled.

I always thought Betsy was the bravest person I knew, doubting that – if faced with the same challenges that she faces daily –I’d be able to carry on with the grace and dignity she has shown. 

But recently, things have taken a turn. After a second brain surgery and several knee surgeries gone bad, she now has to accept life in a wheelchair. At least for now. And this is very challenging for someone so ambitious and motivated as Betsy.

I’d love for my friend to be able to go outside and be in the sun and in her beautiful garden. To smell the fresh air. But a wheelchair just won’t cut it. She lives in Poulsbo, WA, on several acres, and needs a golf cart to get around the uneven terrain of her property.
