Bear is the sweetest little bean you could ever meet. He’s less than a year old and already the heart of Cait and Scott’s world. From his goofy joy to the way he loves his people so deeply, Bear truly completes their family.

Recently, Cait and Scott noticed that Bear wasn’t moving quite right. After imaging and appointments, they received incredibly difficult news: Bear has severe orthopedic issues affecting both his elbows and hips, and he’s been living with more pain than anyone realized.

Bear needs surgery to remove painful bone fragments from both elbows, and he will also undergo a PAUL surgery to help stabilize his elbow and reduce long-term pain. They’ll begin with PAUL surgery on one elbow while removing bone fragments from both, then give Bear time to heal. Once he’s recovered, his care team will reassess how he’s feeling and decide whether the second elbow will also need PAUL surgery.

Later this year, Bear will need a total hip replacement due to severe hip dysplasia. The plan is to start with one hip, allow his body time to heal, and then decide whether the other hip will also need to be replaced, based on his recovery and comfort.

None of this was expected, and the cost of Bear’s care is more than Cait and Scott had planned for, but these surgeries are essential for him to live a long, comfortable, happy life. With the right care, Bear can return to doing what he loves most: running, playing, and being his joyful, affectionate self with his doggy friends.

Bear is Cait and Scott’s whole world. Every single dollar raised will go directly toward his surgeries and medical care, helping give him the chance to grow up without pain and with so much love ahead of him. Any support, whether donating, sharing, or simply holding Bear in your thoughts, means more than words can say.

Thank you for helping this sweet boy get back on his paws and back to the life he deserves.
