Hi, my name is Sky and I started this GoFundMe for my cat, Banner.

For a while now, Banner has been diagnosed with nasopharyngeal polyps, a non-cancerous disease that grows inside the ear canal. The doctor described it as growing like a flower. Unfortunately, this causes inflammation, constant head shaking, and discharge from his ear.

There is a surgery available, but we were told there is only a 50/50 chance the surgery will help. After speaking with our veterinarian, the surgery that was highly recommended is a Total Ear Canal Ablation (TECA) with a Bulla Osteotomy (BO). This procedure removes the ear canal and opens the middle ear to remove the source of the polyps completely. It is the most effective option, but it does mean Banner will be deaf in one ear.

This decision wasn’t easy. I love my cat deeply—he is a very lovable cat—and I know this disease is making him uncomfortable every day. This fundraiser is to help give Banner relief from the constant irritation and pain he’s dealing with, and to give him a better quality of life.
